The Finnish National Youth Council and Youth Sector (FYCS) is an umbrella organisation for youth work professionals and youth sector NGOs. We advocate for sufficient resources to the youth sector and for political decisions that improve the everyday lives of young people.
We contribute to the public debate and decision making processes, provide our members with training, networking events and other services, and gather information about young people and their well-being. We also work on democracy education through concepts such as Youth Elections, the Youth Election Compass, and the Week of Politics..
Since our message is relevant outside of Finland too, we run a national youth delegate program and coordinate Finland’s implementation of the European Youth Dialogue through our international committee. We are a proud member of the European Youth Forum (YFJ) and one of the coordinators of the Youth, Peace and Security Network of Finland.
