Ungas val – Youth elections

With the support of the Nordic Council of Ministers, the Ungas val project promotes youth democracy and civic competence across the Nordic region. During the spring of 2025, the project will organize Youth Elections and Week of Politics. The project aims to strengthen young people’s internal civic competence and increase voter turnout by sharing best practices in civic education.

The project runs throughout the year 2025.

Key activities during the project include:

  • Organizing Youth Elections in connection with the municipal and welfare county in 2025, alongside a civic education campaign Week of Politics.
  • Launching a voter turnout campaign specifically targeting first-time voters in the municipal and welfare county elections
  • Publishing a guide for organizing school elections and sharing best practices in civic education across Nordic countries. The guide will be launched at the project’s closing seminar
