FYCS is coordinating the YOUTHVOTES (2025–2027) project together with the National Youth Councils of Denmark (DUF) and Estonia (ENL), and the OpenVAA association.
The project aims to develop increasingly youth-centered voting advice applications (VAAs) for parliamentary elections in Finland, Denmark and Estonia. The project is funded by the Erasmus+ programme and runs from September 2025 to August 2027.
VAAs are proven to be important tools for young voters when making voting decisions. The project conducts youth consultations in all partner countries to identify and test new features for VAAs. This approach ensures that the tools are designed with and for young people, making them more relevant and accessible.
The project will develop and launch youth VAAs for three parliamentary elections in Finland, Estonia, and Denmark. Key activities will include content creation, local adaptation of the VAAs, technical development, youth outreach, campaigns, collecting data to evaluate the effectiveness of the VAAs and a guidebook for conducting youth VAAs.
